Cal Poly Singles helps bring single students, faculty, alumni and friends of Cal Poly University together. The site has a nice clean design that looks really good and signing up for a free membership is fast and easy. Once inside you will find a very basic member's area with a menu that will give you all the options the site has to offer. The site is very location specific in that almost all of the members live in and around the Cal Poly area. There are close to 2000 members here and I would say 95% of are in the same area as the school. So if you live in that area or go to that school this is a site that will be very useful to you. If not then the site will not have much to offer you.

You can search the members by age range and distance from you. You can also use their advanced search called Super Match which uses the details from your profile to better match you with people. You can search the profiles and look at other people's profiles with your free membership, but you will have to get a paid membership if you want to contact anyone from the site.

The site lacks any other real features. Many dating sites now offer live chat, instant messaging, user forums, blogs and all other types of extra features, but this site has none of those which is a let down.

In the end, how well this site works for you really depends on where you live. I scored the site based on how it will work for the general population which means it won't work very well. However, if you are involved with the university or you live in that area, the site could be something that works well for you and is well worth taking a look at. If in doubt, grab a free membership and give it a peek, it won't cost you anything but a few minutes of time.
