Georgetown Singles

Georgetown singles is a dating site that helps bring together single students, staff and alumni of Georgetown University. The site has a nice clean design and is easy to use. Getting a free membership is also a fast and easy thing to do. While the profiles can be really detailed, they let you skip most of that and allow you to fill it in later if you want. Right out the gate I can tell that this is one of those sites that some people will get a lot of use out of, but many people will not. The reason is that almost all of the members in the site live in the Georgetown or Washington DC areas. So if you live in one of those areas, the site is good. If not it won't be of any real use to you because there will be no members near you.

Once you have a free membership you can use the different search options to find people you are interested in. You can search by age range and distance from you (down to as close as 5 miles from you) with the basic search. The advanced search is called Super Match and it takes the details from your profile (so if you want to use this you will need to fully fill out the profile) and it uses those details to match you with people. You can use these search options and browse people's profiles with your free membership, but you will have to get a paid membership if you want to contact anyone.

Sadly, the search options are the only real features on this site. They have no chat rooms, user forums, blogs or instant messaging that a lot of sites are now offering.

In the end I scored this site low simply because for most people it won't be of much use. However, if you live near the school or are involved with the school, then this site could well be worth checking out. If that is you, get a free membership and jump inside to see if you like what you find.
