GM Dating

GM Dating is a dating site for the students, faculty and alumni or George Mason University. While you don't have to be affiliated with the school to use this site you will need to live in the area that the school is in because about 95% of the 1,500 members in this site live in the general area of the university. This makes the site very useful for those in that area, but not really worth much to anyone else.

Getting your free membership is a fast, easy thing to do. The profiles in this site can be very detailed, but they let you skip most of that process during the sign up. You can go back later and fill it all in if you want. I like that because it lets me try out the site and see if I like it before I spend a lot of time working on my profile. The site has two different search options. The basic search will let you search members by age range and distance from you while the Super Match option will use the details from you profile to match you with other people. You can use these search engines and look at other people's profiles with your free membership, but you will have to get a paid membership if you want to directly contact someone.

While the search features on the site are really nice, they are the only features the site has to offer. There are no chat rooms or user forums. There are also no instant message features or blogs. Many other dating sites are now offering these features to their members, but this site does not.

I scored this site on the low end because it lacks some of the features other sites like it offer and because it has a very localized membership. That said, if you do live in the area of the school then you very well may like what you see here. If that is the case get a free membership and give the site a look, for someone like you the site might work well.
