Lamar Singles is a dating site that focus on the students, staff and friends of Lamar University. Right from the start I can tell that this will be one of those sites that some people will find very useful, but most people will not. The reason for this is that almost all of the members of this site are in the area of the university. So if you live in that area, great. If not, you are out of luck.

That said, signing up for the site is very quick and easy and once inside the member's area you will find a clean, stripped down site that is simple to navigate. Your profile on this site can be very detailed if you want, but they don't force you to fill in all those details when you join the site. This is a nice option because it allows you to check out the site first then decide if you want to put in the time to make a detailed profile.

The primary feature of this site are its search options. The basic search option allows you to search people by age range and distance from you. You can also use the Super Match feature which uses the details you put in your profile to better match you with people. You can use both of these search options and you can look at people's profiles for free, but if you want to contact someone directly you will have to get a paid membership. Sadly, the search is the only real feature on this site. It is a pretty basic site that does not offer any kind of chat or instant message options.

This is a small site that is primarily meant for a very specific group of users. If you are one of those people then you can ignore the score I have given the site and I would encourage you to check it out because it will probably work very nicely for you. If you do not live in the area of the school then chances are this is a site that will have little or no use to you and you can skip it entirely.
