MSU Dating is a dating site for the teachers, students and alumni of Mississippi State University. The site looks really nice and is done up in Bulldog colors. Signing up for the site is a fast and easy process and I found the member's area to be a breeze to navigate. One thing I did notice right from the start is that almost all of the members of the site live in the general area of the school. This means if you live outside of that area then the site really won't be of any great use to you since there will be no members near you.

If you do live in the area of university then you will be pleased to find a nice concentration of members in that area and some cool search functions to help you sort through them. There is a general search option which allows you to search by age range and distance from you. You can get as accurate as within five miles of your zip code. The more advanced search is called Smart Match. It takes the details you fill in on your profile and uses those to match you with the most compatible members. When you sign up for the site you can opt to fill in these details then or skip them and do it later. If you are like me and you skip it, you will need to fill them in before the Super Match will be of much use.

I ended up giving the site a lower score simply because my scores reflect how good the site is for the general population. Here the site is just too localized to be of any real use for most of us. Those that live near the school will find the site to be a lot more useful and should probably give it a look since there is a nice collection of members near you. You can join, search and browse people's profiles for free so you won't have to pay anything until you decide to contact someone directly. If you are in the right area, give it a look. If not, it is probably not a site you will want to spend much time on.
