Penn Singles is a dating site based in the Philadelphia area that focuses on helping bring the students, alumni and staff of the University of Pennsylvania together. The site looks really nice and I found signing up for it to be a fast and simple process. While the profiles in this site can be very detailed, they let you skip most of that when you sign up and fill it in at your leisure. Since the site focuses on the University of Pennsylvania most of the members of the site live on or near the campus. That means if you don't live in that area then this site will probably not be very useful to you.

If you do live near the university or just want to try the site out there are a couple of easy to use search options. The Smart Match feature takes the details from your profile and uses them to match you to other people. You will need to fill in those details on your profile before you use this option. The basic search allows you to select an age range and a distance from you and it lists all the members that fit that criteria. You can use both search options for free, but if you want to contact someone directly then you will have to get a paid membership.

This is a pretty cut and dry site with the profiles as the primary focus of the site and the search options the only real feature. I was disappointed to see that they don't have any sort of chat rooms, user forums or any other interactive options.

What it boils down to is that this site will not be very good for most people. If you don't live near the school there won't be any members near you so chances of meeting someone are pretty slim. Because of this fact and the lack of any extra features I scored the site pretty low. However, if you do happen to live near the school or are involved with the school then the site is worth checking out and I would encourage you to get your free membership and give it a look.
