Positive Love

Positive Love is a dating site that focuses on bringing people with HIV/AIDS, Herpes and other STD's together. I like the idea for this site. If you have a disease like one of these a site like this could help put you in touch with other people in your area going through similar things and from there the sky could be the limit. The tour for the site is very basic and signing up for a free membership was quick and easy. There are a lot of questions you can answer on your profile, but luckily they let you skip them when you sign up and allow you to go back and fill them in later.

Within the site you can do searches based on age range and distance from you. They also have a match option which matches you to other people based on your answers in your profile. One thing I noticed is that the number of members can vary greatly by location. A couple of searched for my area brought up 56 members. Then another search for a different area brought up a few hundred. So the closer you are to a major city the more luck you are likely to have. There are a decent amount of members overall, but they are spread out all over the country. Also, it looks like only about 10% of the people on the site actually have a picture up on their profile. Due to the sensitive nature of the site I can understand that, but some people might find it frustrating. There are user forums and chat rooms that you can use, but those features (along with contacting anyone through their profile) require you to sign up for a paid membership.

In the end this site is meant for a very select group of people. Those who fall within the target audience may well find some real use for this site. Anyone who doesn't probably won't. You can check out the profiles for free so if you are in the target audience, you might give it a shot just to see what is going on in your area.
