Princeton Singles

Princeton Singles is a dating site meant to help the single students, alumni and friends of Princeton University get together. The site is very easy to navigate and use and looks really nice. As I sign up for the free membership I realize right away that this is a site that most people will not find much use for. The reason is that almost all of the members in this site live in or around the Princeton area. That is great news if you live in that area, but not so great if you don't.

The bright side is that the basic membership is free and it will allow you to search the site and browse the user profiles. When searching the site you have a couple of different options. The basic search allows you to select an age range and a distance from you then find matching members. The advanced search is called Smart Match and it takes the details you provide in your profile and uses those to match you with other people. If you skipped filling in those details when you sign up (like I did) you will need to go back and fill them in before this search option will work for you. This is all free. You only have to pay if you want to contact someone directly.

On the down side no matter where you live is the fact that the site doesn't have any features beyond the search. There are no user forums or chat rooms or anything like that. Many dating sites are no offering these types of interactive extras so I was bummed out to see this site not have them.

In the end the success or failure of this site fully rests on your location. If you don't live in the Princeton area then the site really won't be of any use to you because chances are there will be no members near you. This fact was the main reason I had for scoring the site on the lower end. However, if you do live in this area then you should just forget my score and give the site a try. Getting the free membership is fast and simple and you will find a good collection of people in your area to contact.
