Red Raiders of Texas Tech University can use Red Raider Singles as a dating site meant to help bring the single students, alumni and staff of this university together. The site is nicely designed and looks good. It also has a fast and easy sign up process and a nice amount of members. The problem with it is that almost all of those members live in the general area of the school. If you happen to live in that area as well, then you have hit the jackpot. If not, then you can expect this site to not be of much use for you.

Once you have created a free membership to the site you will find a simple, easy to navigate member's area inside. There are about 6,000 members in this site and you can use the two different search engines to help you sift through them. The basic search option allows you to search by age range and distance from you. There is also an advanced search called Smart Match. This option takes the details from your profile and uses them to match you with people. You can use both search tools and look at people's profiles for free, but if you want to contact someone directly you will have to get a paid membership.

Something that really let me down about this site is its lack of extra features. Many dating sites are now offering their members features like instant messaging, chat rooms and user forums. This site, sadly, doesn't offer any of that.

What it really boils down to with this site is that how you feel about it will depend on where you live. I scored it low because it does lack some extra features and most people will not live in the correct area to take advantage of it. If you do live near the school or you are affiliated with the school then ignore my rating and give it a shot. There are a lot of members for a local site like this one which means you will have a pretty good chance of finding someone you connect with.
