Sooner Singles

Students, alumni, staff and friends of the University of Oklahoma can use Sooner Singles as a convenient way to meet and hook up. The site as a clean, easy to navigate design splashed in Sooner colors and signing up for the free membership is a breeze. When you sign up you can choose to take the time and fill in all the details for your profile, or you can skip it and do it later. That is a nice a little feature because it lets you check out the site and see if you like before you take the time to fill in all your personal information.

There is a problem with this site that will cause most people to not use it. Almost all of the 1200 members live in the area of the university. That doesn't mean you have to live there in order to use this site, but understand that if you don't there will most likely not be any other members in your area.

If you do live in the correct area and what to check this site out you will find browsing through all the members to be an easy task with the help of the two different search options. The basic search option allows you to select a distance from you and an age range then search the members using that criteria. The more advanced option is called Smart Match. This search mode takes the details from your profile and uses them to match you with others. If you skipped filling in these details when you signed up you will need to go back and fill them in before this option will work correctly for you.

As much as I liked the search options I was pretty bummed out to see that there were no other options for this site. There are no chat rooms or user forums or any kind of interactive features.

The bottom line for this site is that if you live near the university you should give this site a look. There is a decent number of members and they are all concentrated in your general area so your odds of meeting someone are greatly improved. If you don't live in this area then the chances are the site will not be of any real use to you. Still, signing up, creating a profile, searching and looking at profiles is all still free. You only have to get a paid membership if you want to contact someone directly. With this in mind you won't be out anything but a little time to check this site out so it might be something you would like to explore even if you don't live near the school.
